First stretch session of 2012

I used to do stretching daily as part of my training regime, but that was in the 90′s when I was racing the MTB national and provincial circuits, I was also in school at the time meaning that I could spend large amounts of time doing sport.

In the past 12 years I have not been as diligent about stretching and only done it occasionally. This year I would like to change some of my bad habits and replace them with a more disciplined approach to sport and work. First step is to start my day with stretching as opposed to going straight into work. Today was my first step towards this!

First run for 2012

Ran from my house in Woodstock, Cape Town up the mountain to the block house underneath Devil’s Peak. The circuit is approximately 12km, it goes straight up and then straight down. I kept the pace relaxed and finished in a time of 1hr 15 min.
